INEC Reschedules Elections In 3 Council Wards In Benue



Elections in three council wards in three local government areas of Benue State are to be rescheduled due to election irregularities.

INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in charge of Benue, Dr Nentawe Yiltwada, who disclosed this to newsmen, averred that four of the commission’s staff were kidnapped with materials on their way to Manger ll polling unit in Tarka local government area.

According to him, other local governments where materials were destroyed include Mbalom, in Gwer and Yandev North in Gboko local government areas.

Dr Yiltwada explained that the cancellation at Mbalom council ward in Gwer local government was as a result of attacks and destruction of materials.

While in Yandev north, Gboko local government area, the resident commissioner explained that, ad hoc staff were attacked twice and held hostage so he had to withdraw them to reschedule the elections.
