C/River APC Rejects Guber Result

The Cross River State Chapter of ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, yesterday rejected result of the governorship and House of Assembly elections released by tge Independent Electoral  Commission INEC which gave victory to Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State  to govern the state again  for second term.

The rejection followed claims by the state leadership of the APC that the result of the elections was marred with full of  discrepancies in figures, alleged detention of the party’s  Deputy governorship candidate as well as the state Secretary of the party.

The APC claimed that the State Secretary was held hostage by the military including Deputy Governorship Candidate who was also held hostage throughout the exercise by the Military and was denied movement in his unit.

APC’s statement signed by  Acting Chairman of the party, Sir John Ochala alleged that the APC disassociates itself from the results announced by the country’s electoral umpire(Independent National Electoral Commission), INEC

In his words The APC acting chairman stated, “The All Progressives Congress Cross River State hereby informs the general public that we dissociate ourselves from this rape on democracy in the name of governorship and state house of assembly elections.

“We are all witnesses to the day light robbery of our collective will and mandate, lead by the PDP state government in active connivance with the INEC and security operatives.

“Despite the very responsible manner in which our teaming party faithful and supporters went about their civic responsibility, the PDP in desperation to perpetuate their evil agenda killed several of our members who refused to compromise and resisted the vote stuffing carried out by the PDP.

“We call on all APC members and well wishers to remain calm and go about their lawful duties without hindrance while the Party Leadership explores all avenues within legal limits to correct this aberration” the party stated.
