Nigeria Nollywood actor and member of the Lagos state House of Assembly turned lawmaker, Desmond Elliott has emerged winner of Surulere constituency in Lagos State House of Assembly election after scoring 15,357 votes, sealing his re-election. While the lawmaker, his constituents and fans celebrate the landslide victory while some social media users have decided to make a mockery of it.
Recall that Nigerians bashed Elliott when he commissioned a public toilet. Rather than being praised for the completion of the project, the actor and movie director received heavy backlash from people who concluded that the project is a slap on the face of his constituents. After winning re-election, many immediately took to social media to react to the news. While some congratulated the lawmaker, some commented that his re-election means more toilets for his people.
A determined Elliott has however thanked all his supporters for putting him back in the house and has promised to do better.
Meanwhile, thugs attacked the popular movie star and member of the Lagos state House of Assembly, on his way from his polling unit on March 9. Desmond, who emerged winner of the elections was attacked at Akerele junction in the Surulere part of the Lagos.
