The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has warned developers in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) against arbitrarily change of land titles.
Speaking with newsmen when he inspected a property in Area 1, director of development control department, Muktar Galadima, reminded developers that unlawful change of land titles without recourse to the appropriate authorities amounts to a serious contravention of building rules and guidelines.
Galadima frowned that a property owner, Crystal Oasis Limited, a beverage factory, which is still under construction, near Gwagwalada Motor Park in Area 1, got an approval to build a warehouse, but has converted the same property to a water producing company.
He maintained that such an attitude by developers was capable of attracting sanctions, including demolition and prosecution if necessary conditions were not met.
The director also called on FCT residents to always contact the department before commencing on any form of development in the nation’s capital, to avoid sanctions.
