One of the new generation financial institutions in Nigeria, the First City Monument Bank, has described the south-south and south-east geopolitical zones of the country as its strong base in the country.

Group head, Corporate Affairs, FCMB, Diran Olojo, disclosed this yesterday in Port Harcourt while declaring open a one-day media parley organised by the bank for media organisations and practitioners in the south-south and south-east zones of the country.

The theme of the media parley, which was attended by representatives of national and local media organisations in the two geopolitical zones was: “Achieving National Cohesion and Security Through Positive Reporting: The Role of the Media.”

Olojo, who thanked the media for it’s support to the bank, pleaded for more support to enable the financial institution to perform better.

He declared that the media parley, which has already been held in Lagos, Abuja and the northern part of Nigeria, would be a continuous exercise considering the positive results already recorded from it.

Presenting a paper, the guest speaker, Idorenyen Enang, described the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) as a symbol of national cohesion and called for it’s rebranding.

Enang, who is the chief executive officer (CEO) of Corporate Shepherds, said time has come to raise a new generation of patriotic Nigerians, who do not care about ethnic group or religion.
