Business Woman, Teenager Abducted by Suspected Herdsmen in Delta Community, Released

A middle aged business woman Mrs Benita Osiegbu and a teenager, Ebuka Nwosu in Ubulu unor Community in Delta State were in the early hours of Tuesday allegedly abducted by 3 man gang of Suspected herdsmen on their way to their farmlands.

 

It was gathered that the victims” abduction elicited uproar among residents of the community including their relations,a situation they protested to the Police station at Ogwashi uku who swung into action and mobilized into searching for the abductors within Ubulu unor and Egbudoka Communities’bush.

 

Acting Police Public Relations officer in the state, ASP Chucks Oriewezele who Confirmed the abduction of the victims, disclosed that the victims were waylaid along Ubulu unor road as they were going to their farmlands adding that their abductors emerged from the bush at gunpoint to dragged them into where the police including vigilante men uncovered them but unfortunately the abductors escaped with bullet wonds during exchange of gunbattle.

 

ASP Chucks Oriewezele said” the Police and the vigilante men engaged the Suspects in a gun battle after which they escaped into the bush and abandoned their victims inside the bush, the Suspects have searched their victims and removed N1,500 from their pockets and also collected their GSM phones from them “adding that the police have intensified search for the fleeing Suspects.

It was further gathered that the Police in Ogwashi uku Police station immediately moved into the bush where they allegedly met a man who was wailing over the incident but upon interrogation the man claimed to be dumb and deaf as he gesticulates with his hands.

 

The Police and Several Vigilante men within and around the area combed the nearby bush all through the early hours until they heard noises in the bush,a situation they proceeded to the Place where they found the victims with their abductors before engaging them in gunbattle that helped to release the victims unhurt.

Meanwhile, the State Police Command has announced the substantive appointment of the Command’s Police Public Relations officer, DSP Onome Onovuwakpoyeya, a graduate of industrial Mathematics from Delta State University Abraka ( Delsu) and she is married with children.
