FCTA Workers Demand Improved Conditions Of Service

Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) and the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), under the auspices of Joint Unions Action Committee (JUAC) have called for improved conditions of service for its members.

Speaking when he, along with other members of the executive, visited the secretary for Health and Human Services Secretariat (HHSS), Malam Abubakar Adamu Bappah, chairman of JUAC, Comrade Matilukuro Oluwakorede, expressed dissatisfaction with  the working conditions of workers under the FCTA and FCDA.

Oluwakorede stated that the union was not happy with the conditions of service of workers, especially the way those under the health secretariat were being treated.

He noted that workers in the secretariat face the challenges of skipping, meddling of promotion, as well as discrepancies in grade level, compare to their professional colleagues on the same level in other departments and agencies.

The JUAC chairman stressed the need for the health secretariat to liaise with appropriate authorities to resolve the challenges, which according to him, has been on for about four years.

Responding, the secretary for Health and Human Services Secretariat (HHSS), Mallam Abubakar Adamu Bappah, promised to channel their grievances to the appropriate authorities, who would do justice to it.
