Ekiti Varsity Debunks Dearth Of Toilet Facilities

Ekiti State University, (EKSU) Ado Ekiti has debunked the claim that there is shortage of toilet facilities at the institution.

The management of the state-owned university was reacting to the Thursday, 2nd May, 2019, publication of a national newspaper not LEADERSHIP, captioned “Ekiti State University Students lament shortage of Toilets”.

The University, in a statement by the head, information and corporate affairs of the institution, Bode Olofinmuagun dismissed the contents of the story describing it as lies and not a true representation of happenings in the citadel of learning.

The state reads, “For the information of the general public, seven blocks of toilets had been constructed on campus and five are being put into optimal use. One block of toilet contains ten toilets each, with five allocated to male students, while the other five were allocated to female students.

“These toilets are strategically located for easy access by the students and measures put in place for their regular maintenance.

“For the avoidance of doubt, these toilets are located in the Faculty of Engineering, Directorate of GST, beside the main library, Directorate of Continuing Education Programme and the University Health Centre.

“I wish to emphasize that the University takes exemption to such a publication which portrays it in a bad light without confirming from authorities that could speak on such a sensitive matter. The objective of the writer of this article is questionable.

“The University, under the present leadership of the Acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Olubunmi Ajayi, takes the welfare of both staff and students as priority and would ensure that nothing erodes its enviable track records that it has over the years.”
