KRPC Empowers 995 Kaduna Youths With Skills, Starter Packs



The Kaduna Refining and Petrochemical Company (KRPC) has empowered another set of 100 youths in various skills, bringing it to a total of 995 so far empowered since inception of the Youth Empowerment and Skills Acquisition Program (YESAP).

In his address to the graduating ceremony of the 9th edition of YESAP, the group managing director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Dr. Maikanti Kachala Baru, said KRPC empowerment program was in line with the NNPC’s determination towards positively touching the lives of the nation’s teeming youths through vocational training.

Represented by the managing director, KRPC Engr. Solomon Adewale, Baru said, the KRPC YESAP was also aligned to the Economic Recovery and Growth Program of the current administration of President Muhammadu Buhari and also a booster to the Business Focus Areas of NNPC because it involves creating skills for the youth and empowering them as future leaders.

According to him, skills acquisition would  lead to employment, wealth creation and aid government’s capability to improve the economic, political and social well being of the citizens.

Earlier in his welcome address, the executive director, Services, Malam Abdullahi Idris, said the YESAP was conceived as a capacity building initiative targeted at youths of KRPC host community with the vision of ensuring that they acquire significant skills and empowerment to emerge ready products for the increasingly competitive labour market, but more importantly as job creators.
