2 Applicants Docked For Allegedly Stealing Pipe Railings Worth N200,000



Two unemployed, Andy Okoro, 30 and Dennis Shikon, 24, on Wednesday in an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly stealing a steel pipe railing valued at N200,000.

The police charged the defendants, whose residential addresses were not given, with two counts of conspiracy and stealing.

The Prosecution Counsel, Insp. Mathew Akhaloude, told the court that the defendants allegedly conspired together and stole the ripe railing, worth N200,000, property of Starbic Construction Ltd.

Akhaloude told the court that the defendants committed the offence on May 6, at noon at the Airport Bus Stop in Ikeja.

He said that the defendants were apprehended by a security guard on duty.

The offence, he added, contravened the provisions of section 287 and 411 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015,(Revised) which stipulates three years and two years jail terms respectively.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs A.A. Adetunji, admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N20,000 each with one surety each in like sum.

Adetunji ordered that the sureties must be gainfully employed with an evidence of two years tax payment to the Lagos State Government

She adjourned the case until June 10 for mention. (NAN)
