Papyrus Magazine Unveils Most Outstanding Lawmakers’ Award



The Parliament is the supreme pillar of democracy because of its role of law making as no society can progressively be peaceful, united and prosperous without laws and order to direct the daily affairs of State. Arguably, the parliament is the most important arm of government. Therefore, there is the need to drum their importance and achievements that literally seem to go unnoticed.

It is in the light of the above, that the The Papyrus Magazine fashioned it Most Outstanding Lawmakers Award as  a vision to bridge the gap created by non-recognition of good works in our society and, to publicly recognize and appreciate at individual level, certain categories of lawmakers for their selfless contributions. Therefore, the award/honour/recognition is basically for an Exceptional Social and Developmental Service Delivery in the capacity of a parliamentarian to the constituents and the nation. The latest edition which is third in the series, also features lawmakers at the State House of Assembly.

After careful examination and evaluation of lawmakers at both National Assembly and State Houses of Assembly; the value of their work and achievements; The Papyrus Magazine deemed it fit for the outstanding ones to be honoured at this third edition  billed holding today at Hotel Rosbud in Abuja.

The recipients are: Senate President Bukola Saraki, for His Dynamic Leadership Qualities; deputy senate president, Ike Ekweremadu for great and passionate service;  Senator Dino Melaye, for active and passionate representation; Senator Abdul-fatai Buhari, for outstanding representation; Senator Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya, for dedicated and extensive national impact.

Others are  Sen Godswill Akpabio, for upbeat legislative performance; Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda for transparent representation and constituency development; Senator James Manager, for excellent contributions; Senator Ahmed  Lawan, as an astute and a resilient leader; and  Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim  for tactical efforts of human development.

Those to receive The Papyrus Magazine  awards from the House of Representatives include Speaker Yakubu Dogara, for exceptional leadership and deputy speaker Yusuf Sulaimon Lasun.
