Rivers: Ex-Varisty Director’s Family Floats Foundation to Help Less Privileged

The family of former Director of Works in the Rivers State University, late Engr. Justice Nnamdi Elliot Chuku has set up a foundation to help the less privileged in the society.

 

The foundation, JNEC Education and Health Initiative, was official launched at the weekend during the funeral ceremony of late Chuku at Rumuche community in Emohua local government area of Rivers State.

 

Speaking at the ceremony, a son of the deceased, Chigozile Nnamdi Chuku, said: “Setting up a foundation to help society was the dream of their late father.

 

“It have been his father’s dream to help the helpless especially those he described as zero, and make them heroes.

 

“The choice to lunch or start the foundation on burial day only show how dear the project was in his heart. We are starting from Emohua but we will reach the world.

 

“The vision of the Education and Health Initiative is building an audacious world of peace through innovations in health and education and the mission is working to create lasting solution to issues of health and education.

 

“My father as a philanthropist was who lived a sacrificial life, though the aims of this foundation, which are proffering health solution with focus on liver disease through research and sensitization.

 

“It will also advocate and provide support for indigent children and youths creating platform for harnessing and growing technical skills in urban and rural areas.”
