Group Partners Foreign Varsities On Scholarship

A group, Books Embassy is partnering with over 100  universities abroad to offer scholarship for Nigerian students who desire to study abroad.

The chief executive officer of Books Embassy, Mr Sunny Akhigbe, who made this known during the organisation’s education fair held in Abuja at the weekend added that the scholarships are purely based on merit.

He explained the purpose of organizing the education fair was meant to give people orientation on what it takes to study abroad without having to spend exorbitantly.

“We are giving orientation to people on what it takes to study abroad without having to spend all the money they have saved. We partner with over 100 universities plus in America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Turkey, Northern Cyprus, Dubai, India, Spain, Greece, and all around the world where education is considered as very important,” he said.

Akhigbe further said that the scholarships are divided into two categories, that is the 75 to 100 per cent category and 25 to 50 per cent category adding that the first category was reserved for students with more A’s, while the second category was for students with more C’s.

He added that his passion to help Nigerians gain admission to foreign universities was spurned by his not being able to get such privilege, and further said that he derives joy from knowing that he has added value to the lives of many Nigerians.

The education promoter further disclosed that his organization has extended a hand of partnership to the Nigerian government to make it possible for a memorandum of understanding to be signed that will permit foreign students from other foreign universities to come into Nigeria and complete their studies, while Nigerian students also go abroad to continue and complete their studies in foreign universities.

“We are also trying to reach the Minister of Education in Nigeria to discuss these modalities. I believe that in the next 4-5 years, we should be able to penetrate the system. We are also talking to other universities abroad to see how we can bring a very powerful foreign university to Nigeria,” disclosed Akhigbe.

Also speaking, the marketing manager of Hotel and Management Training Institute in Dubai,  Sruthi Ranjith stated that she was at the fair to meet with students and recruit them for internship in Dubai.

She further said that her institution offers a very flexible internship program that allows students to work even as they are studying.
