‘Oshiomhole Remains APC National Chairman’

A political support group, Next Level Diplomats has disclosed that Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole remains the national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Apparently reacting to calls in some section of the media that Oshiomhole should resign his position  in a press statement made available to LEADERSHIP in Abuja yesterday, signed by the national president, (NLD), Moses Momoh, the group said that the former governor of Edo State is a round peg in a round a hole and has changed the narratives of the party positively.

Momoh equally said that he is on course to move the party to the ”Next Level”.

He further said that the party’s ordeal in Imo, Bauchi and Zamfara states were purely caused by the respective state governors and greedy party leaders who he said wanted to impose their preferred candidates in elective positions against the decision of the party and the wishes of the people.

”Just like in Zamfara state, the immediate past governor, Abdulaziz Yari and the deputy national chairman (North), Senator Lawal Shuaibu were both expelled from the party at the end of an emergency meeting held in Gusua yesterday,” he said.

He added that ”such await Dr Peter Ologun and others who are calling for the resignation of Oshiomhole, a man who brought about victory for the party in the just concluded Presidential, National Assembly and gubernatorial elections.”

”His leadership helped in the increase of APC members in the Senate and House of Representatives,” Momoh said.

On the loss in some states by some APC governorship candidates, he said ”in the aforementioned states, you don’t blame a child’s parents over the failure of the child in school examination, after the parents have provided all necessary academic and schooling requirements for the child.”

Oshiomhole did well by establishing transparent primary election committees in all the States. But the Governors of the States in question abused the process to the detriment of the Party.

All those working for Oshiomhole’s  down-fall shall meet a rock – solid resistance from the Next Level Diplomats, he stressed.

Momoh, however, advised those asking for Oshiomhole’s resignation to go and look for something better to do rather than blackmailing a leader who has done so much for the party and humanity.
