By Sunday Isuwa, Abuja

An Adamawa State based journalist, Tom Garba has cried out following a death threat he received in a phone conversation.

Garba who has been practicing in Adamawa State in the last nine years, said he has never faced such a threat before.

Garba reports for the Nigerian Tribune and also runs an online media,

He told LEADERSHIP that he received the death threat during a phone conversation with one  Steven Maduwa who warned him that if he ever writs anything ‘good or bad’ about the Fintiri-led administration that he (Maduwa) would personally deal with him.

In the audio obtained by LEADERSHIP, Steven Maduwa said: “If you ever write anything about Fintiri, whether good or bad. Record me; I will deal with you personally. I will deal with you physically. I will cut your throat if you write anything about Fintiri whether good or bad.”

According to Garba, “I want the general public to be aware that as a certified journalist who have worked in Adamawa State in the last nine years, my life is in danger because of the death threat from Steven Maduwa.”
