The lawmaker representing Yamaltu West constituency, Hon. Abubakar Ibrahim has emerged the new Speaker of the Gombe State House of Assembly.
Hon. Ibrahim who was elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) emerged Speaker at the Assembly complex in Gombe on Friday following his nomination by Musa Buba from Balanga North and seconded by Abdullahi Abubakar from Akko west
Elected Deputy Speaker was Hon. Shuaibu Haruna Adamu of Kwami west constituency.
The Deputy Speaker’s nomination was moved by the lawmaker representing Gombe south, Mustapha Hassan and was seconded by Nasiru Abdulkarim Gombe North.
In his inaugural speech, Ibrahim thanked his colleagues for their support and promised not to fail them.
He assured them that his leadership would not discriminate against anyone either on the basis of tribe, religion, gender or political difference.
