Gov. Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe, has appointed the Emir of Gombe, Alhaji Abubakar Shehu as the state’s 2019 Amirul Hajj.
This was contained in a statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr Ismail Misilli on Monday in Gombe.
Misilli further said that the governor has approved the appointment of Malam Zubeir Muhammad as the Deputy Amirul Hajj, while eight other persons have also been appointed as members of the state’s Amirul Hajj team.
He said the team will work with the state Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board towards ensuring hitch free 2019 Hajj.
“The team is also expected to work with relevant agencies to ensure proper oversight and smooth operation of the 2019 Hajj,” Misilli said.
