Operatives of Lagos State Police Command yesterday said they have nabbed over fifty Miscreants said to be members of cultists group known as, ‘One Million Boys’ terrorizing Lagos State and its environs .
The police revealed in a statement issued on Sunday by the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, saying tough time awaits the Social Miscreants in Lagos.
He said the new Commissioner of Police, Odumosu Hakeem, has set up a Special Strike Force on Social Miscreants , saying fifty members of One Million Boys were in their custody.
Elkana explained that the CP, launched a Special Strike Force on Social Miscreants in Lagos State and the team were tasked with the responsibility of dislodging social miscreants who miscreants are operating under different names such as One Million Boys, No Salary Boys, Awawa Boys.
He said that the miscreants are responsible for series of violent crimes and attacks in different communities and neighborhoods.
According to him, they also engage in Traffic robberies, assaults, murder and sexual assaults, adding, “ The Operations are mostly Intelligence driven, collating actionable information about the activities of such miscreants, their membership and hideouts and taking the battle to their doorsteps.
“Members of the Operation were drawn from Tactical Units, State Intelligence Bureau, Operations Department and State Criminal Investigation Department with ACP Odubona Oludotun, AC Operations as its Chairman”
He stated that, the Task Team is established in response to the recent activities of those miscreants in Ijegun, Itire and Isheri where they vandalized some vehicles and destroyed some properties of innocent citizens for no just cause.
He said that, 11 suspects were initially arrested and charged to Court while Items recovered from the suspects include: two locally made Pistols; eleven axes; nine cutlasses; four daggers and charms.
