Minister Urges Corps Members To Be Guided By Vision Of Indivisible Nigeria

The minister of State, FCT, Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu has urged corps members to be guided by the vision of a stronger, more stable and indivisible Nigeria.

The minister made this known during the Passing Out Parade (POP) of 2019 Batch ‘A’ Corps Members yesterday in Abuja.

She said, “As you move on to pursue your dreams and aspirations, it is my hope that you will be guided by the vision of a stronger, more stable and indivisible Nigeria. I believe that this experience you just had, of rendering selfless service for the past year has placed you in a better position not only to appreciate the problems we are dealing with as nation but also to motivate you to find ways of tackling these issues with a view to finding lasting solutions to them.”

Similarly, the Coordinator, NYSC FCT, Hajia Walida Isa Siddique urged corps members to be law abiding and shun negative vices that will be detrimental to your success in life.

She said,” At all cost, avoid engaging in vices like drug abuse and peddling, bribery and corruption, kidnapping, prostitution and other vices in a bid to get rich overnight, remember, you are your own best security. Always be security conscious as kidnapped and ritual killings are on the increase.”

Meanwhile, director General, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim said for a while, the passing out parade has been low key due to some challenges but the scheme has commenced the ceremonial passing out parade because it is one of the cardinal points of the scheme and it was a moment when the corps members reunite after one year to share experiences.
