An Italian leading Non-Governmental Organisation, Cooperazione Internationale Sud has indicated it readiness to collaborate with the Initiative for Youth Awareness on Migration, Immigration, Development and Reintegration (IYAMIDR) on order to intensify the fight against human trafficking.
President of (IYAMIDR), Comrade Solomon Okoduwa who disclosed this to newsmen upon the receipt of a letter of partnership signed by CISS representative, Margherita Maniscalco recently sent to Okoduwa.
Okoduwa prior to his resignation was the immediate Senior Special Assistant on Anti Human Trafficking and illegal migration to Governor Godwin Obaseki.
The letter reads in part, “We heard of your resignation and we are really sorry, being aware of your great commitment in fighting human trafficking.
“We hope you will come back soon to cooperate with your Government in this challenge and in the meantime, as CISS, we confirm our interest to cooperate with you as member of the civil society of the Edo State.
Similarly, the Director General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP, Barr. Julie Okah- Donli has described Okoduwa as an asset that will be missed by Edo State.
According to her, “you’re a good asset to that task force and Edo State as a whole. I wonder why the Governor will allow you to leave.”
