The Member representing Obokun/ Oriade Federal Constituency of Osun State, Rep. Busayo Wole Oke yesterday described the passing away of music icon, Majekodunmi Ifasheke, popularity known as Majek Fashek as sad and painful, saying that the Ijesha land at the Nigeria Nation lost an illustrious son.
He therefore urged the Osun State government to immortalise the late Music Ambassador to encourage Youths in their chosen professions.
In a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja, Oke who is also chairman of the House Committee on Public Accounts, said that the deceased would be missed by all yorubas, especially those from Ijesha land
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) law maker, added that Fashek who died at the age of 57 gave his best in terms of representing the Ijesha/yorubas through reggae music around the globe.
According to him, “on this day, I join millions of lover of his reggae music to mourn a very distinguished man, who made Nigeria music industry proud.
”Though he is no more today, we find solace in the fact that he lived a life worthy of emulation may God grant the good people of Osun State and the family the fortitude to bear the loss and well to grant him Peaceful Rest”.
