COVID-19: Tracy, Okorie, Others Brainstorm On ‘Leadership For Success In Times Of Crisis’

Int bid to prepare leaders to handle the challenges of the post COVID-19 era, renowned leadership expert, Linus Okorie convened the
GOTNI Global Leadership Training with the theme: “Facing the Future
Without Fear: Leading in Uncertain Times.”
The well-attended 2-day training saw leaders and aspiring leaders,business professionals and entrepreneurs join the class from acrossAfrica, Europe, America and more. It featured talks on leadership,
effective followership, networking, business and nation building, aswell as personal effectiveness and other relevant insights needed to thrive in today’s world and beyond. Speakers at the landmark virtual event included acclaimed public speaker & self-development author, Brian Tracy; renowned American business executive and Chairman of FraserNet, Inc., George Fraser; Executive Coach and Behavioural Change Catalyst, Lanre Olusola;
Investor & Real Estate Broker, Kristen Cripps; President of the Lagos
Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Toki Mabogunje.

Underscoring the essence of the training, Linus Okorie charged delegates to be deliberately committed to effecting change and  providingsolutions to problems in these times. “If leadership does  notexist, institutions will lose individuals who drive success.” He
said.

“Regardless of the various titles in leadership, a major title every
leader should answer to is problem solver” said keynote speaker, Brian
Tracy, recognized the one person in the world who has written and taught extensively on crisis management and leading in uncertain times. He noted that the difference between success and failure is how fast one thinks, and leaders should brace up for crisis. “The words you choose to use in a crisis, determines the amount of control you
have in that crisis” He said.

Lanre Olusola noted that critical among the leadership values that
will transform organizations is the mindset of service and a desire to
create an atmosphere that is devoid of paranoia and fear. He tasked
leaders to keep growing noting that “If every referral of your success
is in the past, you’re beginning to go extinct. Work to ensure that
your today is better than your yesterday”

Often referred as Black America’s number one networker, Dr. George
Fraser shared tested and proven strategies on maximizing relationships
and networks for organizational and career advancement. He noted that
most leaders, career professionals and entrepreneurs are struggling
because they are not networking right and are not maximizing
relationships.

Canadian self-made millionaire and real estate maven Kristen Cripps
spoke on maintaining happiness and confidence in challenging times.
She charged the attendees to decide on career paths that best suit
their passion and be clear on their goals. “Relentlessness is the “silver bullet” to success. Don’t stop pushing” she encouraged. The two-day event was hosted by renowned compeer and entrepreneur, Dayo Benjamins-Laniyi.
