VSF COVID-19 Task Force Donates Medical Supplies To FCTA



The Victim Support Fund task force on COVID-19 has donated medical consumables and Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) to the FCT Administration to help combat the fight against the deadly virus.

Making the donation on behalf of the chairman of the Victims Support Fund, Gen TY Danjuma (rtd), at the Abuja Central Medical Stores (ACMS), Alkasim Abdulkadir, who is also the spokesperson of the taskforce, said this donation is the second phase of the donations after donating food items something in April.

He explained that members of the taskforce have been travelling around the country with different food and non food items and now, it is the turn of the FCTA.

The target, according to him is to make sure that the rate of COVID-19 spread is mitigated and reduced drastically and hence, the need for donation of the necessary items for medical assistance of the residents of FCT and its environs.

The items donated were medical consumables and devices, which include medicine for primary and secondary medical care.

The primary medicines consist of pain medication/analgesics, multivitamins, anti-malarials, and multivitamins.

The secondary care medications include anti-diabetes, and anti-hypertension drugs and the medical devices are the electronic sphygmomanometer as well as the glucometer and active test strips.

The PPE’s consist of surgical face masks, latex gloves, hand sanitizers, face masks antiseptic, bleach, soap and toilet cleaner.

Receiving the items on behalf of the FCTA Health and Human Service Secretariat, Malan Noel Haruna said the items will be properly put to use and distributed to all hospitals in the FCTA.

The VSF Task Force on COVID 19 which was inaugurated by the chairman of the Victims Support Fund, Gen TY Danjuma rtd was assigned to provide palliative measures to vulnerable Nigerians including institutions and agencies that support the national efforts to fight COVID -19 pandemic.
