Kebbi Vigilantes Kill District Head, As Police Arrest Bandit, Chadian In Katsina



A group of local vigilante known as Yan-Sakai have,  killed the district head of Bajidda, Alhaji Musa Muhammed Bahago.

The deceased’s elder brother, Umar Afanda Mohammed who confirmed the incident to LEADERSHIP in Birnin Kebbi revealed that the unfortunate incident happened around 5pm at Dabai- Mahuta road when the deceased was coming from Zuru after an official engagement.

Meanwhile, the Katsina state police command says  its men and officers have arrested two notorious armed bandits terrorising the state. The command said among them is one Usman Mohamed said to be a citizen of Republic of Chad.

The command’s spokesman, SP Gambo Isah disclosed this in a press statement made available to LEADERSHIP yesterday, adding that credible intelligence gathering led to their apprehension.

“On 01/07/2020 at about 03:00hrs, based on credible intelligence, the Command succeeded in carrying out a sting operation at Yantumaki village, Faskari LGA of Katsina state and arrested the duo of Usman Mohd, ‘M’, aged 30yrs, of Chad Republic and One Usman Hassan, m of Sokoto state in their hideout.

” In the course of investigation Usman Mohd confessed to be a Chadian  rebel and was in possession of  various types of lethal weapons.
