Ogun Students Threaten Protest Against NSCDC Over Age Falsification

Students in Ogun state yesterday threatened to mobilise members in a protest against the zonal authority at Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) should the agency fail to investigate one of its personnel, Abduljabaar Ayelagbe who allegedly lied under oath to  falsify his age in order to retain his membership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN).

The students, under the aegis of Joint Campus Committee of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and the National Association of Ogun State Students (NAOS) made the threat yesterday at a press conference addressed in Abeokuta, the state capital by the NANS JCC state chairman, Comrade Bamgbose Tomiwa.

The students’ bodies specifically called on the NSCDC Southwest zonal Commandant to institute a probe into the activities and involvement of Ayelagbe as the state chairman of NYCN in Ogun state chapter despite his status as a security personnel.

They maintained that as a law enforcement officer, Ayelagbe’s emergence as the chairman of NYCN, contravenes the constitution of the  council, emphasising that he cannot act as the chairman of NYCN in the  state and also be a personnel of the NSCDC without jeopardising the  interest of the youths in the state.
