Nigerian reggae legend, Majek Fashek will be buried in New York, USA, where he died.
The rain maker’s first child, Randy with Majek’s former wife, Rita made the announcement in a video early this week.
Randy expressed thanks to Majek Fashek’s fans and well-wishers for their love and support, and further disclosed that they were forced to take the decision of burying the late reggae icon in New York due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
No date has been slated yet by the family for the burial. It is not certain yet if there will be a tribute concert in Nigeria to celebrate the dynamic Reggae musician who introduced the use of talking drums into Reggae music in his second album
Majekodunmu Fasheke (his real name) died on June 1, 2020. He passed away while battling esophageal (throat) cancer.
He died at 57 years old.
