The Nigerian Shippers Council (NSC) has donated hospital equipment to Comprehensive Health Centre Dadin Kowa and assorted household products to the House of Recab Orphanage home Liberty Boulevard in Jos, Plateau State.
The items donated by the council include, refrigerator, hospital beds and mattresses, generator, washing machine, rechargeable fans, blankets, pressing irons among others.
Speaking during the presentation, the executive secretary/chief executive officer, Nigerian Shippers Council, Mr Hassan Bello, who was represented by the zonal director North Central, NSC, Mrs Ify Okolue, said the donation was part of the corporate social responsibility (CSR) of the council.
He said the management of the council conducted a needs assessment of the House of Recab Orphanage home and Comprehensive Health Centre to know their urgent needs.
Hassan added that the management of the council appreciates all efforts toward ensuring that children are properly taken care of and given sense of belonging.
According to him, “This donation is because of the passion and deep sense of responsibility of the management of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council, and as part of its corporate social responsibility to ensure that the needy in the society are supported and empowered in the country.
In their separate responses after the donation of the materials, medical superintendent, Comprehensive Health Centre, Dadin Kowa, Dr Florence Alege and acting director of House of Recab Orphanage Home, Mr Anthony Tonyin, commended the Nigerian Shippers’ Council for the timely intervention.
They said the materials donated will go alone way to alleviate their suffering which will greatly add value to the hospital and the Orphanage home while urging other corporate organisations to emulate the kind gesture of Nigerian Shippers’ Council.
