A group, Nnewi Achievers Club (NAC) has called on the people of Anambra state to support a candidate from Anambra South to become governor of the state in the fourth coming gubernatorial election 2021.
Ag President of the Club, Nnoli Lucas Ojukwu while addressing journalists on the forthcoming election urged all political hawkers and deceivers to desist from the act of fanning embers of disunity and sowing seed of discord in the state.
According to him, “We believe that the era of those who never want changes in Anambra state is over and now the reformation and rebranding of our dear state which we have been yearning for is at the corner.
“It is on this note we wish to advice all registered political parties in Nigeria whose interest is to produce the next governor of Anambra state to look inward within Anambra south for their suitable candidate come 2021 gubernatorial election.
“You will all agree with me that since the return of democracy in Nigeria, Anambra state like every other state has witnessed democratic governance but the truth remains that Anambra south has not been given the extensive equal opportunity in Agu Awka house to govern the state except for Sen. Andy Ubah whose tenure was truncated by court of appeal within two weeks he was sworn in as governor of the state.”
He noted that other zones, Anambra central and north has occupied the seat of power in the state for good two terms while appealing passionately to all known parties in the state like the PDP, APGA, APC, UPP and YPP to give members from Anambra south who may wish to contest the opportunity in the next governorship election.
“As a social club whose vision is to build human capacity for the betterment of our country, we will do everything possible to ensure that come Anambra 2021 gubernatorial election, justice will not be deny to the good people of Anambra south.
“Let me use this opportunity to equally appeal to politicians from other zones to rally round their colleagues in their respective parties from Anambra south and shun the earnest selfish desire of contesting the governorship election.
“They should understand that the likes of Sen. Ifeanyi Patrick Ubah, Hon. Chris Azubogu, Dr. Chukwuma Soludo and others from Anambra south possess the intellectual capacity to lead Anambra people to their promise land.”
He also advised those from other zones who are criss crossing the country, canvassing and permutating to be anointed candidate of their party to drop their political ambitions for the unity of the state and support Anambra south agenda.
“Let me equally sound note of warning to our jobless political errand youth who are been used as a bait to promote political hatred via social media to desist from such act. We will not tolerate in any form the slandering of our brothers whose interest is to use their God given resources in developing our senatorial zone and Anambra state at large,” he added.
