The prelate, Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, His Eminence, Nzie Nsi Eke, has said the 2023 general elections will be a mirage, going by the rising insecurity in the country.
According to the prelate, the insecurity challenge is drifting Nigeria into a failed state and except the government and security agencies redouble their efforts, the 2023 general elections will be a mirage.
Speaking at a press conference to mark the Synod of the North Edition of the 175th (Dodransbicentennial) anniversary celebration of the church yesterday, Eke urged President Muhammadu Buhari to address Nigerians on the security challenges and secession agitations for a way forward.
On the 2023 general elections, he said: “Prophetically, we believe the 2023 elections will be a turning point in the history of our nation. As a church, we are going to labour in prayers and mobilization towards that election. We support e-transmission of election results because it will go a long way to mitigate electoral malpractices.”
