The Rotary Club of Abuja Wuse II on Wednesday 5th February 2020 setup a task force for the prevention of Corona Virus and Lassa Fever in Government Day Secondary Wuse II.
At the Inaguration ceremony of the Suzanne.C Smith Health Scout Ambassadors, Dr. Gladys, a medical surgeon and a UN health worker, trained the Ambassadors on hygiene processes and techniques to prevent the contact of corona virus or lassa fever.
The task force were further armed with personal hand sanitizers for usage and distribution, and were certified to further train members of each of their classes on personal hygiene and preventive measures to stay safe from communicable diseases.
Also, the Rotary Club President, Rotarian Pietro Uzochukwu mandated the Ambassadors to be watchdogs in their school and report any case of illness to the school authority.
The Rotary Club installed automatic sanitizer dispensing machines in strategic locations in the school and further provided wash accessories to students for personal hygiene.
