A group of intellectuals under the aegis of Owukpa Development Advocacy (ODAG) has congratulated former president of the Senate, David Mark on his achievements since becoming a senator in 1999 until date.
The group particularly appreciated the recent bill sponsored by Mark for the establishment of Federal College of Health Science Otukpo (FUSHO).
The body, which comprises of intellectuals, politicians and professionals from different endeavors, who are all well meaning Owukpa sons and daughters both at home and in the diaspora have been in the vanguard for emancipation of Owukpa people, for promoting peace, social justice and commumal development of owukpa in Ogbadibo local government Area of Benue state.
In a statement issued to LEADERSHIP Weekend, the group said it has deemed it fit to appreciate the pragmatic leadership quality of the Zone C political leader, former senate president whom they described as a political Icon in Nigeria.
Aside the numerous human capital developments embarked upon by David Mark for his people, the group further lauded the former Senate president for his effort towards the establishment of FUSHO bill that has scale through second reading and pass the committee stage in the red chamber.
A member of the group, Isaac Ameh, expressed his joy for the initiatives of the federal university of health science Otukpo through the instrumentality of Zone C political czar, after consultations with Idoma council of chiefs and Idoma people both at home and abroad to be a benefit as a gigantic federal university in Idoma land.
The statement by the group read in part, : The university is one of its kind, a specialised university which is targeted at making use of both traditional herbs and orthodox means to solve health challenges in the land, which every right thinking Owukpa sons and daughters should support Mark for the actualization of the big dream in Idoma land.”
