Ahead of governorship election in Anambra State, the former minister of Health, Prof ABC Nwosu, has emerged the chairman of the caretaker committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra State.
This comes as the PDP national chairman, Sen Ahmed Makarfi, who inaugurated Nwosu’s committee, tasked them to ensure the party reclaims the state during the governorship election.
Meanwhile, the national leadership of the party has suspended a former factional state chairman, Ken Emeakayi, for convening a party meeting after the three parallel executives in the state were dissolved.
The party disclosed that it was forced to suspend Emeakayi following his disparaging remarks against Makarfi and the national secretary of the party, Sen Ben Obi, when queried over his action.
However, while speaking after his committee was inaugurated at the party’s national headquarters, Nwosu who pleaded with party members who defected, noted that the era of cutting corners in the state chapter of the party is over.
