In preparation for the First Edition of Public Presentation and Launch of Compendium of Outstanding Graduates of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, its Alumni has inaugurated a Planning and Organising Committee in its bid to build integrated alumni and to advance the University’s goals.
Speaking while inaugurating the committee at the weekend in Abuja, its national president, Prof Ahmed Tijani Mora, said the aim of the Compendium is to have names and biodata of distinguished Alumni that have made marks in local government, states, federal and international level so as to be a source of inspiration to students of the University.
Mora who said the Alumni had made a lot of impacts on ABU students, explained that the Compendium would also showcase in a special way, the graduates that have contributed to nation building over the years.
He said: “The essence is for easy reference to interesting parties and Alumni members, to go through and identify the products of the school and to show the visibility of the University to the world.”
On the impacts of the Alumni on the school, Mora who said his administration had recorded tremendous achievements in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, pointed out that they have provided pedestrian bridge, school shuttle buses and water scheme to ensure effective and efficient service delivery to the students of the University.
Also speaking, chairman of the Committee, Mr Mahmud Muhammad Danjuma, said the purpose of the Compendium is to showcase to the world how much they have impacted the university and Nigeria communities.
Danjuma said, “With this, the university students can develop a proactive mind and strive to accomplish their dreams.
