The supervisory councillor for education, sports and social development in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Ramat AbisolaAbdullahi has empowered over 30 women and youths from Kabusa ward.
Ramat said that the empowerment of the less privilege and widows in her ward is a way of saying thank you to the people for their support. She noted that she would not have been what is today without them, just as she urged them to continue to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forth coming election for more dividends of democracy.
“I believe that service to humanity is the best work of life. I feel I should also give back to my constituents where I reside,” she said.
In his remarks, the chairman Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Abdullahi Adamu Candido said that the empowerment, which is first of its kind in the area, is the essence of governance, which the people ought to benefit. Candido added that Mrs. Ramat is giving back to Kabusa people, because the people supported her and gave responsibilities.
He appealed to those in privileged positions of authority to replicate the same gesture to ensure that the dividends of democracy are felt in every part of the council.
