former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff has denied being mobbed by mammoth crowd as peddled in a trending on social media video during a condolence visit to the state Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Waziri.
Sheriff clarified the misinterpretation of the video in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on media, Mr Kolo Adams, which was made available to newsmen.
The media aide explained that the aggression of the crowd was not towards Sheriff, but the security personnel who were preventing them from interacting with their respected leader.
“When you listen to the video you will hear clearly the chanting of Sai SAS, Sai SAS, Sheriff, Sheriff, Sai SAS. This is a mark of love,” he said.
Adams accused political opponents of spreading malicious information and falsehood against his boss because of forthcoming 2019 election.
Adams however appealed to the good people of Mauduguri and Nigeria in general to disregard such ‘fake video’.
