An Abuja-based businessman and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from Kusada local government area of Katsina State, Aminu Abashe, has said the All Progressives Congress (APC) are jittery over the popularity of the opposition in the area and across the state.

Speaking with newsmen in Abuja, yesterday, Abashe said the APC has lost goodwill among the people of Katsina State, especially Kusada local government area, adding that the party has failed the people woefully.

The PDP chieftain, who was one of those that worked rigorously for the victory of the APC in the 2015 general elections, said he and others of like-minds regretted supporting the APC.

He added that it was the failure of the APC government in the state that made him quit the party to defect to the PDP.

Abashe, who hails from the Kusada state constituency as the Speaker of Katsina State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Yahaya Kusada, said the lawmaker is already afraid that he will take his seat in 2019, even as he said he is still consulting with the people.

“The APC has failed our people woefully. I have realised that the party is built on deceit and hypocrisy. Not even one of their numerous electioneering promises has been fulfilled since they came to power in 2015.  I was one of those that worked for the success of the APC in Kusada local government area and Katsina State in general.

“It was in the attempt to save my face before my people that I defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). It is clear that the APC government has nothing to offer our people.  In no distant time, I will make my plan for 2019 known,” Abashe added.
