Bandits Kill 2 FRSC Officers, Abduct Others In Nasarawa

Kidnappers yesterday attacked two buses of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officials at Wudage Junction, Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, killing two officials and abducting 10 others.

The Corps Public Education Officer, ACM Bisi Kazeem, confirmed the incident, to journalists yesterday noting that one officer died during the attack while the second person died at the hospital.

He added that the 10 missing operatives were believed to have been kidnapped.

He said the personnel were travelling from Sokoto and Kebbi states to a location in the South East. He further noted that the deceased and the injured officials had been evacuated to the Federal Medical Centre, Keffi, Nasarawa State.

This was contained in a statement titled, “Gunmen attack FRSC staff at Wudage, Nasarawa.” The spokesman, in the statement said the Corps Marshal, Dr Boboye Oyeyemi, has ordered that the incident should be immediately reported to relevant authorities for prompt rescue of the victims, while investigations into the incident have commenced.

According to the statement, “The officers totalling 26 in number were travelling in two buses. One of the officers in the vehicle conveying the staff of the Corps reportedly died during the attack while another officer died in the hospital and four others were injured, eight escaped unhurt, ten unaccounted for as they were allegedly kidnapped by the assailants.”
