The #BringBackOurGirls (BBOG) group yesterday celebrated one of its leaders and the co-founder of the group, Dr Oby Ezekwesili as she marks her birthday.
One of its members, Dr Manessah Allen while writing about her stated that she had chosen to speak for the voiceless even when others have decided to keep quiet adding that she was one who had stood and will continually stand for humanity.
He wrote, “ when men and women even from the terror ravaged communities were silent by choice. She stood for Baga and spoke against the massacre. She stood for BuniYadi boys, school she visited severally. She stood for the #ChibokGirls even when she had not met anyone from Chibok, she refused to doubt the abduction and reached out to real families of the girls.
“She supported the IDP many from Bama, Gwoza, Madagali and Mubi in cash and in kind. She provided free capacity building training to many NGOs and CSOs to move into Northeast and help and still doing that. She drafted the multi-donor Trust fund template/document for intervention in the north east, and submitted her concept note for the NedCom Bill
She worked with us in many organisations working on building good governance network.
Founded the Transparency International where some of us are learning daily.
“She was called names, defamed, debased, yet she is still standing for the reason pf shared Humanity and empathy with fellow citizens. She clocked another year today, so you join he celebrate this mother who understand patriotism in its true sense, who cared to remain a voice for the masses.
Former Education Minister and Bring Back Our Girls campaigner, ObyEzekwesili was born on April, 28, 1963. Ezekwesili while writing about her birthday in her twitter handle stated that she has forgiven those that have attacked her for standing up for the missing Chibok school girls.
