The national president of Christian Association of Nigeria Youth wing (YOWICAN), Engr Daniel David Kadzai, yesterday, commended the federal government for their efforts in the release of about 82 abducted Chibok schoolgirls.
CAN also called on politicians not to use the issue for political gains.
Kadzai said the young girls went through a lot of trauma, but hoped that the swapping of five Boko Haram members with the 82 kidnapped schoolgirls would not be a mirage in fighting the terrorist group.
He enjoined Christians to pray more for the release of the remaining girls in captivity and many other people in the custody of Boko Haram.
“We have been praying for the release of these girls and any other person adducted. Let us also pray for the total collapse of the Boko Haram group because their activities affect mostly Christians in the country.
“These girls went through captivity for more than two years. They went through unjustified horrible experiences.”
“We must commend their immediate families and the relentless efforts of advocacy groups like the BringBackOurGirls (BBOG), International NGOs like the Red Cross, Rescue Mission, the Security agencies and all Nigerians who pray for their release,” Kadzai added.
