The Nyiev Community of Guma local government area of Benue State where the proposed Cargo Airport is supposed to be sited has
threatened to release snakes to bite anybody that would trespass on their land without paying full compensation to them.
The commissioner for Works, Transport and Energy, Emmanuel Manger, disclosed this yesterday while interacting with newsmen in Makurdi.
According to Manger, the villagers emphasized that snakes would bite anybody that would enter into their land for the purpose of using it for the establishment of a cargo airport without compensating them.
“When our kinsmen gave out their lands for the establishment of the Federal University of Agriculture ,full compensation was not given to them, so except we are paid our compensation, any trespasser into the land in the name of Cargo Airport will be beaten by snakes.”
