As the charity football match between African Legends and Kano Pillars football club, for internally displaced persons in the country continues to gather momentum, the chairman of NPFL club owners Association Barrister Isaac Danladi has thrown his weight behind the historic exhibition football game.
Danladi who is also the chairman of Nassarawa Utd football club made the assertion when the Local Organising Committee paid him a courtesy visit in Kano ahead of the League Management Company LMC Annual General Assembly in the ancient city.
He commended the LOC for their resilience, steadfastness, commitment, dedication for their efforts in using football to touch the lives of IDPs.
Danladi added that the game tagged Match4IDPs to be played on December 14, inside the Sani Abacha Stadium has the full support of the 20 NPFL clubs as he noted all hands will be on desk for a successful event.
He also showered encomium on the and General Coordinator, Ms Abi Goodman for initiating such a noble course to alleviate the plight of the IDPs.
Speaking earlier,the media coordinator of the event, Sharif Abdallah, identified the importance of football stakeholders like club Owners Association as critical element for a successful novelty match.
Also speaking, the General Coordinator for Match4IDS ,Ms Abi Goodman thanked the club owners Association chairman for his support and patronage.
This Thursday, the African Legends led by ex internationals, Nwankwo Kanu and El-Hadji Diouf will trade tackles with Kano Pillars led by Rabi’u Ali to raise funds for internally displaced persons in a match the Emir of Kano, HRH, Mallam Mohammad Sanusi 11, is expected to lead thousands of football loving fans to cheer the two sides.
