Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has called on the people of the state to continue to give support his administration with a view to taking the state to greater heights.
He made the plea on Monday evening during the cultural day and turbaning of his daughter as the First Zinariyar Sarauniyar Bauchi held at the International Hajj Transit Camp, Bauchi.
Bala, who said the occasion was not meant for politicking, pointed out that it was a very solemn and auspicious event for him to show his gratitude for the support and appreciation shown to him by all well-wishers across the country, most especially the people of the state.
“So many people have contributed positively to this occasion by donations and contributions to me even though they know I am the governor and Allah has blessed me in all respects. They brought their chickens, they brought cash, they brought rams, they brought cows and some brought clothes and so on and so forth.
“Today what we have been given is so enormous that I used to wonder whether I really need all these, but certainly the fact that I have been given all these gifts is an attestation of good will and I will not take it for granted. I deeply appreciate on behalf of myself, the bride and the bride groom and my extended family and all well-wishers,” the governor said.
