The Senior Pastor of Unity Worship Centre, Dayo Olutayo, has admonished Nigerians not to lose faith in the face of the nation’s current economic challenges, assuring that “God will surely restore Nigeria’s glory in due course.”
Olutayo, who gave this admonition at Unity Worship Centre’s 2025 Maranatha in Abuja, said this was not the first time Nigeria had faced challenges, recalling a similar situation from the Bible, which is how Joseph became famous in Egypt.
He prayed for Josephs to rise in Nigeria to cushion the effect of the economic crunch. He called on all Nigerians to pay more attention to what God is saying, irrespective of their religion.
The cleric announced the church’s new name, Unity Worship Centre, saying it reflects their true mission of teaching God’s word and uniting people in love and purpose. He urged Nigerians to remain law-abiding and responsible citizens who promote peace, unity, and love across all divides.
Olutayo also unveiled the 2026 theme: “In The Light of His Countenance”, taken from Psalm 89:15. He declared longevity for members as found in Genesis 50:23 and encouraged Nigerians to pray for others when in need, citing Job 42:10 as an example.
Other church leaders and members shared testimonies of God’s faithfulness and the church’s impact over the years.
One of the leaders, Okey Udo, described the 21-year journey as one of “unbroken faith and divine strength,” noting that the church’s growth is a testament to God’s ever-present presence in their mission.
Another leader, Casmir Igwe, highlighted the church’s humanitarian projects, including providing clean water, running free feeding centres, and supporting the needy across communities.
For her part, Evelyn Onyilo lauded the church’s moral teachings and inclusive leadership, particularly its recognition of the significant role women play in shaping families and raising responsible children.
The event featured soul-lifting renditions by guest artists and the globally recognised church choir, climaxing with thanksgiving, dancing by various units of the Church, and the cutting of the glamorous anniversary cake amid cheers and a funfair atmosphere.
