Farmers in Lagos have been urged to shun certain individuals and groups demanding money for registration and collection of Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC).
The executive member, Human and Environment Development Agenda (HAEDA), Mr. Nelson Ekunjimi, stated this during a sensitization campaign to educate farmers on the need to get their PVCs before the closing date, in order to participate in the 2019 general elections.
He urged the farmers to participate actively in choosing whom to govern them, saying it is their civic responsibility and right to vote .
He added that if the good men refused to do the right thing, the bad ones will definitely rule over them.
Ekunjimi pleaded with farmers to go get their PVC and vote for the candidate of their choice and notified them that the PVC collection process continues 30days to general election, but registration for PVC ends on the 17th of August 2018.
He urged the farmers in the country to ensure that the nation is great like it was in the past, saying it is a collective responsibility of every Nigerians, Ekunjimi urge them to ensure that non- Nigerians and anybody under the age of the18 years do not contravene INEC constitution, saying if anybody is found committing such offense they should report to the law enforcement agents.
He appealed to the farmers and general public not to engage in vote selling, telling them the effect and the consequences if cut in the act of selling vote.
