Bauchi State Football Association (BAFA) has joined Nigerians all over the world to mourn the death of a member of the executive committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and chairman of the Adamawa State Football Association, Alhaji Musa Duhu.
In a statement signed by the chairman of the FA, Patrick Pascal, he described Duhu’s sudden demise as a huge loss to not just his family, but the entire Nigerian football fraternity and Northeast in particular.
The former Nigerian utility player said Duhu would be greatly missed for his contribution to the development of the round leather game at the grassroots, as well as his fatherly advice.
He urged the families and entire Nigeria’s football fraternity to find solace in God. He prayed God to grant Alhaji Musa Duhu’s soul eternal rest and comfort his family.
“We at the Bauchi state FA and all the stakeholders in the state received the news of the death of Alhaji Musa Duhu with a heavy heart. May God grant his family the strength to absorb the impact of this death, forgive his shortcomings and reward his good deeds in the life after,” he said.
“Late Duhu was a very close friend, vibrate administrator and we shared ideas on how best to develop grassroots football in the Northeast, it’s so sad that we lost him, but at the zonal level, we will ensure that we work hard to accomplish his vision”.
“This is a monumental loss, his leadership qualities were never in doubt,” Pascal added.
Late Alhaji Musa Duhu died on Saturday night in his home in Yola, after a brief illness.
