Wilfred Ndidi has put up an impressive performance as Leicester City started the new Premier League season on a winning note, following a 3-0 thrashing of Sami Ajayi’s West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns, yesterday.
Ndidi, who was deployed as a center-back, played a key role in his side keeping a clean sheet in the game.
The Nigeria international was in action for 90 minutes in the highly entertaining contest, while his international teammate, Kelechi Iheanacho was an unused substitute for Leicester City.
West Brom paraded Semi Ajayi for the entire duration of the game.
Ajayi was booked for a rough tackle in the 63rd minute.
Debutant Timothy Castagne opened the scoring for Leicester City in the 56th minute before Jamie Vardy added two more goals from the spot in the 74th and 84th minutes.
Vardy, the league’s top scorer last season, and Dennis Praet were well saved by West Brom goalkeeper, Sam Johnstone in bright sunshine at the Hawthorns, with the host offering little in attack in the first half.
