Ex-Presidential Candidate, Prof Imumolen Gets Award

Philanthropist and former presidential candidate in the 2023 presidential election, Prof. Chris Imumolen, has been conferred with the award of recognition at the just-concluded 2025 edition of the annual Peace Achievers International Conference and Awards, organised by the Peace Ambassadors Agency.

Prof. Imumolen, the Chancellor of the Unique Open University, Lagos, received the honour for excellence in leadership and human capital development.

This is in recognition of his role in advancing the horizon of human capital development and giving young Nigerians access to meaningful and sustainable means of livelihood.

Prof. Imumolen, who has consistently used his Prof. Chris Imumolen (PCI) Foundation to uplift society, recently built and donated a fully furnished library to the Lugbe community in the Federal Capital Territory, a project that has been widely commended as a boost to literacy and learning in the area.

He has extended scholarships to thousands of Nigerian youths and students in neighbouring countries, helping them acquire quality education and professional skills.

Recently, his foundation awarded a N2.7 million cash gift to the best graduating student of Global Wealth University in Togo, where he also serves as founder and vice chancellor.

Not long ago, he received the operational license for Unique Open University from the National Universities Commission, creating a broader opportunity to train young Africans to be creators of employment through practical education.

With the theme “Peace Building Through Sectoral Partnerships: Public and Private Sector Collaboration,” the Peace Achievers International Conference and Awards took place on November 8, 2025, at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja.

This 15th edition of the award also featured conferment of the Honorary Doctorate Degree from American Management University, California, USA, and the Peace Icon Award.

The Project Director of Peace Ambassadors Agency, Amb. Kingsley Amafibe stated that this event, coinciding with the 15th anniversary of the Peace Achievers International Conference and Awards, presented an opportunity to celebrate 15 years of promoting peace, advocating for change in Nigeria, and consistent support for national unity.

Other personalities honoured include the Principal Partner of Bosslady Law Chamber, Barrister Orbby Agwuncha; the CEO of One Per cent International, Ambassador Stephanie Nnadi; the CEO of Dune Group; and Her Excellency, the Ambassador of the Republic of Zimbabwe. Prof. Smelly Dube and others.
