President Muhammadu Buhari has requested the House of Representatives’ to approve the sum of N148.141 billion as refund to five states for road projects, through the issuance of promissory notes.
The speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila read the letter from President Buhari on resumption of plenary yesterday.
The letter revealed that the decision to pay the money was approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) on the 3rd of June 2020 for the reimbursement of N148.141billion.
According to Buhari in the letter, the approval by FEC was sequel to the recommendation of an inter ministerial committee which reviewed the request for reimbursement made by the states and carried out physical inspection and verification of the projects in the respective states.
The states that would receive the money, include Bayelsa N38.404 billion; Rivers, N78.953 billion; Cross River, N18.394 billion; Ondo, N7.822 billion; and Osun, N4.567 making it a total of N148.141 billion.
