The popular Dugbe Alawo market in Ibadan, Oyo State was on Wednesday gutted by fire, destroying goods worth millions of Naira.
LEADERSHIP gathered that the fire which swept through the market started yesterday around 1pm.
Although the cause of the fire could not be ascertained as of the time of filing this report, a building housing many shops and offices at Lebanon area of the market were razed by fire.
People were also seen trying save their belongings in the building located at the back of United Bank for Africa UBA in the Dugbe Alawo.
The fire also razed another building and row of shops where mattresses, clothes, household goods and electronics are sold.
Men of the state fire services with support from Central Bank of Nigeria Fire services were seen battling to put out the fire as of the time of this report.
