Kwara state government has assured those displaced by flood in Pategi, headquarters of Pategi local government area of the state of its support.
The state Deputy Governor, Mr. Kayode Alabi gave this assurance when he paid a sympathy visit to Etsu Pategi, Alh Umar Ibrahim Bologi 11 as well as the people displaced by flood in the community.
“I have come to represent my boss, Mallam AbdulRahmam AbdulRazaq on a sympathy visit to Your Royal Highness and the people displaced by flood.
” I pledge the support of this administration for the farmers and other people displaced by flood,”Alabi assured while speaking at Etsu’s palace.
Addressing the people of Gbaradogi whose community has been submerged by flood at the bank of river Niger, Alabi assured them that government would soon give them necessary palliatives.
Etsu Pategi,Alh Umar Bologi 11 thanked the state government for its concern for the flood victims.
He requested for relief materials for the victims whose properties, he said, had been taken over by flood.
The monarch also called for a permanent solution to incessant flooding that usually afflict the riverine communities in his domain every raining season.
A Gbaradogi community leader, Mohammed Nda Sado, while thanking the Deputy Governor for the visit, lamented the destruction that flood has done to their community.
He appealed to state government to relocate their community to a new site not prone to flood.
